George Foulkes-Taylor is a professional photographer and filmmaker from Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia.
Originally self-taught, then trained in photojournalism, their art journey has been vast and explorative. George is constantly developing their body of work and style, and is known for their versatility.
George is currently working in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and beyond, shooting predominantly weddings and events. Through 2016 and 2017 after producing the most successful regional tours Fringe World Festival has ever had, George worked in Kalgoorlie on several large community arts and culture projects including producing Kalgoorlie Fashion Week and assisting with the public art project Heartwalk.
In 2015 George toured Australia with independent musician Jonny Taylor, shooting stills and video for media and print publication. In the same year they returned to W.A. after spending eight months travelling through North and Central America shooting 35mm film for a self-published book, their second collection.
In 2014 George was selected to work and study during a five-week trip to Bangladesh with Pathshala South Asian Media Academy. This trip was supported with an exhibition in both Dhaka and Perth.
George's multimedia piece Above This City was shown at the 2015 World Press Photo Awards showcase in Fremantle, WA following a successful exhibition of printed photographs at Spectrum including having a piece chosen as the lead image for the exhibition.
